One of the widely recognized names in poker and a 2009 World Series of Poker finalist last year, Phil Ivey, has been eliminated Saturday. The 27-year old took off with two bracelets last year and more than $1.4 million from the Referral Code Full Tilt main event alone.
This year, Ivey got one bracelet at Event #37 – WSOP H.O.R.S.E and the $329,000 plus that came with it. He had gathered a total of four cashes from this year’s WSOP.
Phil Ivey has been booted out from the 2010 World Series of Poker main event. The 2009 November Niner and top-ranked poker player in the world was eliminated during the first hour of Full Tilt Bonus action on Day 2B. Ivey’s elimination came all through the last hand before the break, but he mislaid most of his chips from his Q-Q ran into the K-K of Yuji Masaki. Hopes were high for Ivey when a queen spiked on the turn, but a king on the river astounded the rail and everyone watching. Moments later, Ivey headed to the door for the last time this Series.
